A New National Health Emergency

From teens to senior citizens, more than 115 people in the U.S. die every day from drug overdoses.* The surprising fact is that most are due to the overuse of powerful prescription painkillers.

YourTown Health is taking 4 big steps to solve the opioid crisis in our community:

  1. We will provide Prevention and Awareness Programs to stop abuse before it starts. We will educate patients about the risks involved with taking opioid medication and its adverse effects on their safety.
  2. We will implement an Opioid Policy. Our doctors, nurses and dentists are changing how they select and prescribe medication. We will look for non-opioid alternatives and eliminate the long-term use of narcotics to treat pain.
  3. We will employ a Narcotics Drug Agreement for our patients to set and monitor treatment goals, complete with step-by-step directions to minimize the chance of harm.
  4. We will provide Pain Management Programs as a resource for those who suffer and help them find safer ways to cope with chronic pain, recover from addiction, and rebuild their lives.
