January 26, 2015 – Palmetto, GA – YourTown Health is proud to announce the expansion of its oral health program. A new dentist and five additional chairs have been added, doubling the Palmetto dental clinic’s capacity.

“I’m happy to welcome Dr. Haregewoin E. Baye to YourTown Health Greenville,” said Jon W. Wollenzien, Jr., Chief Executive Officer. “She will replace Dr. Adam Barefoot, who will move to our newly expanded dental office in Palmetto.”

An Atlanta native, Dr. Baye is a Georgia State grad with a doctorate of dental medicine from the University of Kentucky. She will begin March 1 in Greenville. Office hours in Greenville will then be Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 5pm and Friday, 8am to 12noon.

The Palmetto dental office is being relocated to the first floor of the clinic and will feature five additional operatories (working spaces for dental treatments), bringing the total to eight after construction is complete. Palmetto’s hours will be 7:30am to 6pm, Monday through Thursday and 7:30am to 12noon on Fridays.

“YourTown Health is committed to helping our communities stay healthy, and good dental health is such a crucial part of the total health picture,” said Wollenzien. “It was important that we add these extra resources to provide bi-annual cleanings as well as a whole range of preventative and curative treatments.”

“Dentistry is about more than a great smile. In fact, the health of your mouth has a lot to do with your overall health.” Wollenzien noted. “Regular dental visits can actually help ward off some diseases. Often times, the dentist is the first healthcare provider to spot health problems, such as certain cancers, diabetes, heart and kidney disease,” he added.

YourTown Health is a non-profit network of six community health centers serving the communities of Meriwether, Pike, Lamar, Carroll, Coweta and South Fulton counties for over 30 years. The centers provide access to quality primary care, pediatric care, women’s care, dental care and more, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
