YourTown Health is both proud and a bit sad to announce that Adam Barefoot, DMD, MPH, is leaving us after six years to become the Oral Health Director for the state of Georgia. In his capacity as a dentist at YTH, Dr. Barefoot helped hundreds of people in our community to realize healthier smiles. He also assisted in the development of policies that helped our dental staff deliver better oral health services. As a member of the National Network of Oral Health Access, Dr. Barefoot collaborated with other community health centers like YTH across the country to share learnings.

As head of the Georgia Oral Health Coalition, Dr. Barefoot will be able to use his years of service to promote better access to oral health care statewide, and help improve the quality of life and health of all Georgians.

“All of us at YTH wish Dr. Barefoot much success in his exciting new position,” said CEO Jon Wollenzien. “We will miss our friend and colleague, and we thank him for all he’s done for YTH,” he added.
